          EXT. COUNTRY ROAD. NOON.

A Hedgehog moves across the misty country road, and stops in
the middle. A Loud noise of a car approaches quickly.

          INT. AUDI A4. NOON.

A middle aged man and his 17 year old daughter are in the
car, the daughter is glued to her Mobile and is listening to
music. The middle aged man tries to change the radio station
but its not picking up any signal.

                              JOHN
                         (frustrated)
                    Come on, you stupid thing!
John stops trying to tune the radio and turns to his
          daughter.
                              JOHN
                    Alice... Alice...
Alice does not hear him and is humming to her music. John
gives up and presses his cigarette lighter in.

                              JOHN
                         (speaks under his breath)
Bloody kids these days and there
                    technology.

          EXT. COUNTRY ROAD. NOON.

The hedgehog reacts to the noise of the car and starts
heading for the grass bank. The beam of the head lights
          appear round the corner.

          INT. AUDI A4. NOON.

Alice in still enhanced in her mobile devise while John is
driving. It starts to rain, John turns his window wipers on.

                              ALICE
(she briefly looks up for a
                         second and sees the rain)
So much for that Indian summer.

                              JOHN
                         (laughing)
Yeah, tell me about it, we should
have gone on holiday this year.

There is no reply from Alice, John looks at her and sees she
is still hypnotized to her little screen. The car goes over
something and the car jumps a little. Alice does not notice,
John smiles as he knows he just accidentally hit something.

          EXT. COUNTRY ROAD. NOON.

The dead flattened hedgehog is lit up by the tail lights of
the car and is left behind on the wet misty road.

          INT. AUDI A4. NOON.

                              JOHN
                         (chuckles to himself)
Woopsy, that little fellow is going
                    to ache in the morning.

The cigarette lighter pops out and is now ready to use.

                              JOHN
Ahh, that's what i was waiting for.

John reaches into his coat pocket to retrieve his packet of
cigarettes. he takes one out and holds it in his mouth while
he puts the packet back. he grabs his car lighter and tries
to light his cigarette but accidentally drops it in the foot
          well.
                              JOHN
                         (angrily)
                    For fuck sake!

John keeps the steering wheel still with one hand as he
looks down and feels around in the foot well for his
lighter. after a few second he feels it and finally picks it
          up
                              JOHN
                    Ahh got the bugger!

As he lifts his head up he sees a faint outline of a person
in the mist. he slams his brakes on and Alice's phone flies
          out of her hands.

                              ALICE
DAAAAAD! What the heck are you
doing? you could of smashed my
pho... (spooked) is.. is that a
                    girl?

Alice and John look at each other in shock and John turns
slowly to look out of the window to see the small straggled
haired girl. she looks about 11 and has long straggly hair,
she is wearing typical young girls cloths and is drenched
          from the rain.

                              ALICE
Dad, are you going to do something?
                    or at least say something.

John keeps staring at the pale faced girl looking innocently
at him through the window. he slowly moves his hand to the
electric window button and hold it down, the window slowly
goes down and cold air starts to flood the car.

                              JOHN
                         (struggles to speak)
Hel, hello little girl, are you ok?

          Little girl nods her head.

                              JOHN
do you want a lift home?
The little girl nods her head again.

                              JOHN
                    Ok climb in the back.

The little girl opens the door slowly and climbs in the car
and sits in the middle seat. Alice looks in the back and
          smiles at the girl.

                              JOHN
                    Where do you live then?

                              LITTLE GIRL
                         (quietly)
The little cottage up the road.

                              JOHN
                    Ok strap yourself in.
John checks the girl has strapped herself in and then sets
off. Alice looks at the little girl then back at her dad.

                              ALICE
Why would she be alone in this
weather and this time of night?

                              JOHN
                         (whispers)
I don't know, but she will be home
                    soon.

          EXT. COUNTRY ROAD. NOON.

See the car going around the country bends and approaching
the small cottages on the right. The cottage windows glow
          with warmth.

          INT. AUDI A4. NOON.

                              JOHN
aha, this must be it on the right.

                              ALICE
Hopefully, its the first house we
                    have seen in a while.

          EXT. COUNTRY ROAD. NOON.

see the car pull up outside the cottage.
                              JOHN
                    right, here we go then.

          INT. AUDI A4. NOON.

John turns around to see the girl, however the back seat is
empty. John looks at Alice and then looks back in the back
again, Alice sees her dad looks spooked and looks in the
          back too.
                              ALICE
Where is she? she didn't get out
did she? i didn't here the door or
                    anything.

                              JOHN
No, no she didn't, but where else
                    could she be. (freaked out)I'm
going to talk to someone in that
                    cottage and tell them whats
happened and that we have seen
                    there daughter.

          EXT. OUTSIDE THE COTTAGE. NOON.

John steps out of his car and walks up the well lit cobbled
path to the cottage. he approaches the door and pauses for a
few seconds before knocking, finally he knocks once, then
knocks 2 more times. 20 seconds pass.

                              JOHN
                         (sighs)
                    Well that's helpful.

He looks back at the car to see Alice glued back to her
phone, he then looks back at the door and decides that there
is nobody in and turns to start walking back to the car, he
takes 2 steps then hears someone trying to unlock the door.
He quickly turns back around and waits at the door. The door
slowly gets opened and a elderly woman appears from behind
          the door.
                              ELDERLY WOMAN
Hello, can i help you with
anything? I was just having my nap,
                    before you knocked.

                              JOHN
I'm ever so sorry, but i saw your
daughter and gave her a lift back
here because she was drenched and
was a few miles up the road. bu..

                              ELDERLY WOMAN
                         (interrupting)
I am fed up with people like you!
every time its her birthday I have
people coming here telling me they
                    have seen my daughter.

  1. Kieran why did you not simply save it as a pdf and upload it to Issue? Do you not know how to do this?
